Stalingrad: The Air Battle is the second in a series of four by Christer Bergström, published by the British publisher Ian Allan on the history on the air war on the Eastern Front.

Note: This books examines the air war on the Eastern Front from a slightly different angle than the author's Black Cross/Red Star series. While Black Cross/Red Star, Volume 3 goes more into detail with the daily air battles over Stalingrad in the summer of 1942, as well as the air battles on other sectors on the Eastern Front in the summer of 1942, Stalingrad: The Air Battle gives an overview of the air war during the campaigns from early 1942 which led to the battle of Stalingrad. Stalingrad: The Air Battle describes the strategy and tactics and also gives an analysis of the "air related" reasons to the great Soviet victory at Stalingrad in the winter of 1942/1943.
